An Asheboro, North Carolina man stands charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, child endangerment, and failure to maintain lane.  On April 17, a deputy of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with rollover on Tallulah River Road in Clayton.  Upon arrival, the deputy observed a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado about 20-feet down an embankment in the Tallulah River.  The deputy and Rabun County EMS assisted the driver and his son out of the vehicle.  The deputy smelled alcohol coming from the driver.  After failing field sobriety tests, the driver, 35-year-old Christopher Gene Goins, was arrested and transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
