April Unemployment Down in Rabun County

The Georgia Department of Labor announced that the unemployment rate in the Georgia Mountains region for April was 5.0 percent, down two-tenths of a percentage point from 5.2 percent in March. This is the lowest the rate has been since May 2008 when it was 4.9 percent. The rate in April 2014 was 5.7 percent. Rabun County made an even better drop in unemployment from March to April of this year, moving from a March 7.6% rate to April’s 6.9% unemployment rate. Rabun County’s unemployment stood at 8% in April of 2014.
