1,400 Cases of COVID-19 have now been reported in Rabun County

Positive cases of COVID-19 are starting to slow down in Rabun County.  According to the latest figures from the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have now been 1,400 cases of the deadly respiratory virus in Rabun County with only 47 new cases reported in the last two weeks.  There have also been 34 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Rabun County since the beginning of the global pandemic last March.  In other neighboring counties, Habersham County has had 4,491 cases and 133 deaths, White County lists 2,815 cases and 57 fatalities, and Towns County reports 962 cases and 36 deaths.  According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 794,349 positive cases of the virus across the state, of those, 53,658 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 14,176.
