USDA Looking for a $20 Million Bump

The USDA is looking for a 20 million dollar bump from the Federal Government, on it’s 2016 Forest Restoration Budget Line for the U.S. Forest Service…

“These projects, that we now have 23 spread across the country, have proven that when we make a commitment for a multi-year level of funding to large landscapes, and work under a collaborative effort, we can make a significant difference over time. It provides a certainty for industry to be able to invest, because they understand this is a multi-year commitment.”

U.S. Forest Chief Tom Tidwell explained to a House Subcommittee earlier this week. The request also includes an additional $20 million in funds in the next few years after 2016.
