Update on New Office and Shop Building for RCWSA

Work continues on the new office and shop building for the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) off Yorkhouse Road.  At their meeting this week, the Authority Board was given an update on construction by Brendan Thompson, General Manager of the RCWSA.  “In the last couple of weeks we’ve done the interior framing and this week the electricians are in doing the rough electrical. I also meet with the IT folks a couple of days ago to review our information technology needs.  So, it is moving along and again we are looking at being moved in by January of 2020.” This new building offers many benefits to the RCWSA as well as county residents, adds Thompson. “It will be a way that we can have everyone under one house.  It will be a shop and office complex where our customers can come in and pay their bills in person if they want to or online. They also have a 3,000 square foot area for shop work where we can work motors and equipment and various other things that we need to make sure that water is delivered to the folks.”  The new building, at 1650 Yorkhouse Road, sits on the same property as the Wastewater Plant.
