UGA Comes to Rabun County

Rabun County gained a valuable asset in the month of April…

“My name is Amber Arrington, I’m the new Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent here in Rabun County, I started as of April 1st. Extension is provided by through the University of Georgia to bring unbiased research to the community.”

The Agricultural Extension Office provides an array of different information…

“That could be on topics ranging from, you know, gardening to commercial vegetable production, forages and beef cattle. So we’re just here to provide unbiased information to the community of Rabun County.”

Most of the services offered by the Extension office are free…

“We provide free services for information, for me to come and do site calls, that is all free. We do do water and soil testing, which there is a fee associated with that.”

There are several ways to contact the Extension Office…

“They can call the Extension Office. We’re located off of Main Street, they can stop by, we’re actually next to the Health Department, or they can email me. You know, I’m willing to make farm visits or house calls, whatever they need from me. Our phone number is (706)-782-3113, and my email address would be [email protected].”
