Due to the storm conditions that were experienced in Alabama last night, that are rolling into Georgia today, Rabun County was also issued a Wind Advisory that will last until midnight tonight. A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT.

The impacts include THE COMBINATION OF A SATURATED GROUND…PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN…AND STRONG WINDS MAY DOWN NUMEROUS TREES AND POWER LINES. SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES MAY DEVELOP BY THIS AFTERNOON. TRAVEL WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS ON HIGHER MOUNTAIN ROADWAYS AND IN LOCATIONS WHERE WINDS ARE CHANNELED BETWEEN PASSES.
