Two People arrested for DUI in Rabun Co. 

Two people stand charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after separate incidents in Rabun County.  The first arrest came at 4:50pm on April 17, 2020, after a deputy with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Georgia 15 near Wiley Tire for a motor vehicle crash.  After speaking to a witness and the occupants of the vehicle, the deputy arrested 31-year-old Clyde Bruce Abbott of Cleveland, Georgia for driving under the influence of multiple substances and driving without a valid license.  The second DUI arrest happened at 7:10pm on April 18, 2020, at the intersection of Pool Creek Road and Forest Service Road 977. The deputy pulled the vehicle over for not having a tag. While speaking with the driver, the deputy smelled a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.  After failing the field sobriety tests, the driver, 59-year-old Hayward Fuller of Clayton was arrested for DUI and an expired tag.
