Traffic Stop results in Meth Bust

A routine traffic stop resulted in a recent methamphetamine bust by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.  On Jan. 14, a deputy observed a 2001 Nissan Altima fail to stop at a stop sign. After pulling the vehicle over at the intersection of Georgia 15 and Tiger Connector, the deputy searched the vehicle and located a plastic bag with a clear crystal substance suspected of being methamphetamine.  The driver, 53-year-old Robert James King of Alto, was arrested for possession of a schedule II controlled substance and booked into the Rabun County Detention Center.
