Three-Wheeler goes off 15-Foot Drop-Off on Highway 28

On July 21, 2023, a deputy of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Highway 28 near the Georgia and South Carolina state line for a three-wheeler accident.  The driver was exiting a slight curve in the road when the front right tire ran off the road onto the shoulder.  The driver panicked and was unable to regain control as the three-wheeler continued off the road and over an approximate 15-foot drop-off.  The vehicle struck thick brush and came to a rest with disabling damage.  It had to be towed from the scene.  The driver suffered a fractured ankle and was transported to the hospital by Rabun County EMS.
