Something to Bark About

Rabun County Rec Department Director Roy Quilliams is going to close out the dog days of summer with a bang…

“Saturday between 10 and 2 o’clock, we’re having the grand opening for our brand new Rabun Bark Park dog park. We’ve got several events scheduled, we’ve got Rabun Animal Hospital, Paws for Life will be here having an adoption event, Clayton Pet Lodge and Grooming doing some nail clipping, among some other activities. It’s mainly just to introduce the park to the community.”

Some members of the community like Kyndal Dimon and her dogs Savannah and Chili Moon are already enjoying the park…

“Oh I come out here 2 or 3 times a week and I absolutely love it. I don’t have a fenced in yard so this is a chance for my dogs to run around, be in the sunshine, play ball, or smell new smells, so it’s pretty amazing, I love it here. I mean, you guys have the obstacles, you have water over in the corner, there’s shade, there’s benches for people. I think it’s a pretty good, well thought out park.”

Saturday’s event will also include a dunk tank and be catered by of course, Alpha Dog.
