Smoky Mt. Center to hold program on Identity Theft

The Macon County unit of the NC Retired School Personnel (NCRSP) will sponsor a program on Tuesday, April 21 at 6:30 pm at the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts for anyone who uses debit cards, credit cards, order online, has a social security number or interested in the topic of identity theft.

Caroline Farmer, Deputy Director, in the NC Attorney General’s Office, will discuss the increasing problem of identity theft and scams. Learn the elaborate tactics thieves use to steal your hard earned money. The discussion will show methods that would prevent you from becoming a victim. Examples of the most recent schemes online, at home, and by phone will be discussed.

This is an open meeting for anyone, not just those in education.  No reservations are needed.  For more information, contact Lee Berger at 332-0306.
