Sky Valley City Council holds Budget Meeting

At their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, the Sky Valley City Council held a budget planning session, explains City Manager Ella Fast.  “This was a preliminary budget meeting for the 2020 budget. I had put together a preliminary budget to present to the council and the community.  We met to discuss how we want to proceed and what things we want to change and continue on the path to making Sky Valley a great place to live.” The proposed budget for 2020 is a little less than what was approved for 2019, adds Fast.  “Our General Fund budget is $1.1 million just for general funds, that does not include our Enterprise Fund. It actually is a decrease from the previous year. It was $1.173 million and the proposed as it stands is $1.142 million.” The Sky Valley City Council will hold additional budget meetings in the coming months before scheduling a public hearing on the 2020 budget, which starts on January 1 and runs through December 31.
