The score was tied as Braves closer Craig Kimbrel was handed the ball in the top of the ninth; however, after two singles, a double and a stolen base, the Dominicans took a two run lead and then set the Americans down in order in the bottom of the ninth. The US will face Puerto Rico in an elimination game on today.
Atlanta Falcons
The eight-time 1,000-yard rusher Steven Jackson reached agreement with the Atlanta Falcons on a three-year contract yesterday, as the defending NFC South champions nabbed the best available running back on this year’s market. Jackson comes to Atlanta after an outstanding nine-year tenure with the St. Louis Rams, during which he made the Pro Bowl three times.
