Rhapsody in Rabun Receives Raving Reviews

Rhapsody in Rabun receives raving reviews.

The sold out event took place last night at the Rabun County Civic Center as a benefit for the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund.

Steve Brett, the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund Chairman for Rhapsody in Rabun, said he felt the event went incredibly well.

“I think it’s a wonderful event,” said Brett. “I mean, you just had to walk into this room and see the decorations, and these banners and everything, and it was one of those ‘Oh My God’ moments. It’s really unbelievable.”

Nearly all of the decorations at last night’s event were up for auction to help raise money for the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund.

Margaret Patrick, the Chair of the Advisory Board of Rhapsody in Rabun  said Rhapsody has been benefitting non-profit organizations in Rabun County for several years, and this year, the event reached a milestone in total funds raised.

“We’re real thrilled because this is Rhapsody’s 22nd year, and this year, we’re going to break the one million dollar mark.”

It will be some time before the final numbers are available, but many people involved with the event say they hope to net over $100,000 for this year for the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund.

Patrick said they are already looking towards next year’s event, and that 501(c)(3)’s within Rabun County can apply to be the recipient of Rhapsody.
