Rec Coaches to Learn About Sport Injuries

A man who worked in the field of Sports Medicine for the National Football League will be talking to rec coaches this weekend.

Saturday, Harold King from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta will speak at a Sports Safety Coaches Clinic at the Rabun County Recreation Department.

The coordinator for Safe Kids Rabun County, Deputy Lisa Thompson, said that King will be speaking to coaches, parents, and teachers about what to watch for when it comes to sports injuries.

“We’ll be discussing safety issues around baseball, softball, and soccer. The main topics will be concussions, dehydration, sprains and strains.”

Two baseball and softball clinics will be held at 9 and 11 am, and two soccer clinics will be held at 10am and 12 noon.

Safe Kids Rabun asks that all Rec Coaches and Little League Coaches Attend Saturday’s event.
