Rabun Gap welcomes new Head of Upper School

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School is pleased to welcome Kate McGroarty as its new Head of Upper School. McGroarty brings over two decades of experience in boarding and independent school education to Rabun Gap. She began her career in education as a French teacher in Charlotte, NC before teaching internationally in Germany. She served 14 years at The Madeira School in a variety of academic leadership roles including Director of Educational Innovation, Assistant Academic Dean, and Assistant Director of Global Programs. During her time at Madeira, she worked to ensure all aspects of the curriculum were aligned, partnered with faculty on modular scheduling, advanced the integration of technology in classrooms, and designed the new faculty orientation and mentoring programs. Most recently, McGroarty served as Upper School Division Head at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in New Jersey. She will live on campus and serve in the boarding community.
