Rabun Gap Nacoochee School joins Prestigious Organization

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School has been selected for membership in The Cum Laude Society. Founded in 1906, The Cum Laude Society is dedicated to honoring scholastic achievement in secondary schools. The founders of the society modeled Cum Laude after Phi Beta Kappa and in the 99 years since its founding, Cum Laude has grown to 382 chapters, approximately two dozen of which are located in high achieving public schools and the rest in independent schools.

Membership is highly selective and is limited to only the finest academic institutions. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School becomes only the tenth school in Georgia to be a member of The Cum Laude Society. The other schools in Georgia who are members of this coveted association are Athens Academy, Augusta Preparatory Day, Brookstone School, Darlington School, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School, Lovett School, Pace Academy, Savannah Country Day School, and The Westminster Schools.

Each year, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School will initiate the top twenty percent of the senior class into membership in The Cum Laude Society each year. Membership criteria are based solely on academic performance.
