Rabun Gap Man arrested for siphoning Gas from Church Vans 

Three incidents of siphoning gas from church vans have a Rabun Gap man facing multiple charges.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that 42-year-old Lanny Edmund Hoffman stands charged with five counts of theft by taking, two counts of criminal trespass, and one count of attempt to commit a crime.  The three incidents occurred between May 5, 2019, and Sept. 23, 2019, at Wolffork Baptist Church in Rabun Gap. In total, Hoffman stole 115 gallons of gasoline from two church vans on the property. In addition, on two of the three incident dates, a 2010 Ford Econoline van was damaged.
