Rabun County Resident Reports Scam

Scams come in many packages, including money and deception. But one Rabun  County resident is dealt with a scam case that is not that familiar. The subject reported a scam to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office on January 4th, after she applied for a job with Secret Shopper.

According to the report, the subject then received a money order in the mail for $988.00, with detailed instructions as part of the job requirement. When it seemed that this was a scam, the subject went to their bank to test the authenticity of the money order. That was when the bank teller informed them that it was a scam, and later, the scam was reported to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.
