Rabun County Business Subject to Harassing Phone Calls

Over the Holiday season, phone scams were quite the issue. Scammers called Rabun County residents, wanting credit card, or other information. This time, a business was subjected to harassing text messages.

According to a police report, The Clayton Police Department was made aware of a series of text messages that were received by employees at Harry Norman Realtors, stating that someone was asking for tax and property records for the most expensive properties listed. The number in question is from 940 area code, which represents Denton, Texas.

The report also stated that the employees checked the number on the website “whocalledme.com” and discovered that there were many complaints from across the country, stating that the suspect had asked for tax and property records.

If you receive a suspicious phone call, hang up, and dial 911.
