Rabun County 11U Football Heads to Super Bowl

Last Saturday, the Rabun County Recreation Department hosted the semi-finals of the North Georgia Youth Football Association 7U-11U playoffs. Many teams throughout North Georgia participated, and Athletic Director Adam Dixon says that hosting the event was a huge success, and brought exposure to Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium.

“It’s the prettiest stadium that they all play in,” Dixon says of Memorial Stadium, “we appreciate Coach (Lee) Shaw for letting us use the stadium.”

Rabun County had a team play in the semi-finals. The 11U team squared off against North Hall, and were victorious, 13-6. The win moves them to 10-0, and sends them to the NGYFA Super Bowl being held in Dahlonega, at Lumpkin County High School.

Dixon says that there is something special about this team.

“This team has allowed 25 points in 10 games.” Dixon says, “This is their first trip to the Super Bowl. You can’t say enough about the coaches and players on this team.”

The Rabun County 11U team will compete in the Super Bowl this Saturday at Lumpkin County High School in Dahlonega against Jefferson. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 P.M.
