Rabun Co. Sheriff’s Office checks Car Seats

Car and booster seats provide protection for infants and children in a crash, yet car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13, reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. That’s why it’s so important to choose and use the right car seat correctly every time your child is in the car. On Sept. 16, 2019, deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office along with other local officers conducted a Car Seat Safety Check at Walmart in Clayton. In total, 22 car seats were checked and discovered issues were corrected. Deputies were also able to replace two car seats that needed replacing. The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office plans to hold more Car Seat Safety Checks in the near future.
