NWS Issues Flash Flood Watch for Rabun County, Effective 6PM Tuesday

With potential bad weather coming our way tomorrow, the National Weather Service in Greenville/Spartanburg has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Rabun County, going into effect tonight at 6, and lasting for 24 hours.

LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA TODAY. ROUNDS OF HEAVY RAINFALL AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY YIELD AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAINFALL.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
