Nephew arrested for injuring Uncle

A Clayton man faces a simple battery charge after getting drunk and injuring his uncle.  Around 6pm on Jan. 23, 2020, a deputy of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an address on Bradford Road in Clayton for an assault involving an intoxicated male abusing an older male.  Witnesses told the deputy that 33-year-old James Lee Coleman of Clayton was drunk and beating on his uncle. Coleman allegedly tried to throw him out of bed and injured his back. Coleman fled the scene before the deputy arrived and was located a short time later at an address down the street.  Coleman was arrested for simple battery. While being booked into the Rabun County Detention Center, Coleman became very combative and was trying to fight deputies and jail staff, who were then forced to use soft-hand techniques to control him.
