Mountain View Health and Rehab works hard to be free of COVID-19

After a resident of Mountain View Health and Rehab Center in Clayton tested positive for COVID-19 in late July, the center has worked extremely hard to free itself of the deadly respiratory virus, says Mountain View Health and Rehab Administrator Shari Jordan.  “Well, we struggled with getting the proper PPE in the numbers that we need but the state of Georgia and our Coalition came through and we were able to obtain everything that we needed and we mitigated everything according to CDC and CMS guidelines.  We did have COVID-19 in the building and we did get it out.  We segregated the positives from the negatives.  We segregated those that had signs and symptoms from those that were just plain positive.  We had no deaths.  We had no terrible sickness from it, thank God!  We were able to get it out of the building.  The team just trooped together and everybody did exactly what they were supposed to do according to hand hygiene, cough hygiene, wearing their masks, wearing their face shields, washing their hands, washing the residents’ hands, and providing masks for the residents.  So, we were able to get it out of the building.”  Jordan thanks the community for its prayers and support dealing with the coronavirus.  Mountain View Health and Rehab Center on Warwoman Road in Clayton is a medium-sized nursing home facility with 117 beds and 93 residents.
