Man Wanted in NC Arrested in Dillard

According to a press release from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, December 22, 2014, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office arrested Robert Lawrence Taro, 51, of Franklin, North Carolina.  Taro who had active arrest warrants from Macon County, North Carolina for trafficking methamphetamine was arrested at the Gateway Inn in Dillard,

Georgia.  During a subsequent search of Taro’s hotel room, approximately 1 and a half ounces of methamphetamine with a street value of $5,280 was located.  Taro was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and he will be detained at the Rabun County Detention Center until he is extradited to Macon County, North Carolina.  The Dillard Police Department, Macon County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office and the ATF assisted with the arrest of Taro.
