Good News Concerning Georgia Power Customers

A state decision will result in a drop in the monthly bill for Georgia Power customers.

On Tuesday, the Georgia Public Service Commission approved Georgia Power’s plan to reduce its fuel rates by an additional 15 percent. Georgia Power said the reduction is expected to lower the total monthly bill of the typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month by approximately $4.60, beginning June 1.

In addition to the reduction in fuel rates, Georgia Power also recently announced its base electric rates will remain flat through 2019.
