Georgia Power Employees donate iPads

As the COVID-19 pandemic continued, nursing homes were forced to take unprecedented actions by halting all family visitations.  When members of Georgia Power’s Citizens of Georgia Power-Clayton/Cornelia Chapters learned that residents at Habersham Home, a long-term nursing home, were no longer allowed to have loved ones visit, they raised money to buy two iPads, allowing residents to virtually visit with loved ones.  Citizens of Georgia Power is the employee volunteer arm of Georgia Power Company. With 42 chapters statewide and more than 3,400 members, consisting of employees and their spouses, volunteers contributed more than 143,000 hours equal to $3.5 million in 2019.
