Georgia DPS Releases New Year Holiday Count

The Georgia Department of Public Safety released their official numbers in their Holiday traffic count from New Year’s weekend. A total of 13 fatalities were reported throughout the state, in relation to auto accidents.

 

Out of the 13 recorded deaths, 7 were reported by state troopers, while 6 were reported by local agencies. The troop that recorded the most deaths, was a tie between Troop B, which represents Northeast Georgia, and troop F, in Southeast Georgia. All three reported fatalities reported in Northeast Georgia, came from the Gainesville post, that represents Banks, Hall, and White Counties.


The New Year’s Holiday Traffic Count by the Georgia Department of Public Safety lasted from Thursday afternoon, until Sunday evening. Totalling 78 hours.
