EMA Calling for Residents to be Prepared for Emergencies

Local and state Emergency Management Agencies are calling for Georgia residents to be prepared for an emergency.

September has been deemed “National Preparedness Month,” and is designed to raise awareness of how to deal with emergency situations, as the Director of Rabun County Emergency Management Marty Dixon explained.

“The main thing is to make sure you have a plan in case a disaster happens, like where your family is going to meet, and what you’re going to do,” said Dixon.  “Make sure you have some flashlights with batteries, some emergency water, emergency food, and any kind of medications you might take.”
