DUI Arrest in Wiley

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office made a DUI arrest on Sept. 15, 2019, around 5:30pm.  According to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a deputy observed a 2011 Chevy Impala traveling on Georgia 15 North at Wiley Connector weaving between the lanes.  The deputy initiated a traffic stop near the Wiley Post Office. After speaking with the driver, 73-year-old Clement Dennis, the deputy smelled alcohol on his breath and conducted a field sobriety test.  Upon failing that, Dennis was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain lane, and open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Dennis was booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the three charges.
