Clayton Police Propose Budget

Three departments stood before the council: the street department, administration, and the Clayton Police Department on Tuesday during the first of two Clayton City Budget hearings.

Clayton Police Chief Andy Strait makes it seem as if the department will be able to make changes to their budget this year, which will save money overall. The biggest proposal was that of three new police cars. Strait stated that three current cars are in the range of 8-10 years old, and repair costs are starting to rack up. The council would have to approve his budget before any action is taken, according to Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry.

The next scheduled budget hearing for Clayton is next Tuesday at 1PM.
