Clayton Accident Leads to Arrest

A two car accident leaves one arrested, and two injured.

On May 3rd, officers with the Clayton Police Department responded to an accident on Rickman Street near Burger King that occurred around 6PM. When the driver of the first car was questioned about the accident, Chief of Police Andy Strait says that Officer Mark Gerrells noticed something that the driver had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath. She agreed to do a series of field sobriety tests.

When the driver of the first vehicle, 34 year old Roxii Forester of Clayton, was given the field sobriety test, there were signs given that she may be indeed intoxicated. Forester was arrested for driving under the influence, and having an open container of alcohol in her vehicle.

Two people, including Forester, were injured during the accident, and were taken by ambulance to Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
