City of Clayton to change Insurance Plan

The City of Clayton is making a change.

The Clayton City Council held their monthly meeting on Wednesday, and announced that the city would change their health insurance plan. A proposal was set forth during the work session last week by an insurance agency, stating that a plan from Aetna would be best for the city, because of the premiums.

Under the new benefit plan, Aetna will now only have a 6.6% increase in premium, as opposed to the current plan, which was at 21%. There will be no increase of payment from the employee, but only to the employer.

This plan will begin on February 2nd.
