City in Need to Help Those in Need

The City of Clayton is in need of those who can help with their Helping Others Thanksgiving Drive. This will be the 3rd year for the city to be involved with this and saw numbers increase from about fifty the first year to 125 the second year of those in need for Thanksgiving, and expects an increase again this year. On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving from 11:30 to around 1:30 city workers and volunteers will serve food at City Hall and deliver food to the elderly and shut-ins. City Manager Cissy Henry says they need about fifteen more volunteers…

“We’re looking for people to come out and volunteer on November the 27th, to take the food out to people in the houses that are shut in. Anyone who can drive that wants to help that day, just you know come to city hall that morning or call Mrs. Overholt and she’ll be glad to give you some directions on what we are needing.”

Also If you know of a shut-in or elderly person in need of Thanksgiving dinner you can contact City Hall.
