Burglary Suspect Arrested in Atlanta

One suspect in relation to a number of burglaries in the Lake Burton area has been taken into custody, according to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.

Austin Blake Webb, age 30 of Dillard, was arrested Tuesday in Atlanta on one county burglary, and one count theft by taking at a residence on the southern tip of Lake Burton, occurring on November 22. He was discovered and identified by a camera located inside the home.

Webb was transported to Rabun County on Wednesday, where he was interviewed about the incident, where a 50-inch plasma television was stolen. Chief Investigator for the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office Jack Tanksley says that Webb may be associated with other burglaries in the area.

During the interview, Webb showed investigators the houses that he had broken into, the number was at least 20.

Over twenty houses being burglarized is an incredible amount. With a number that high, Tanksley believes that Webb did not act alone, and there are persons of interests.
