Best to Stay Off Roads This Morning

Darren Giles of the Rabun County Road Department says his crews are hard at work this morning…

“Well, we’ve actually already plowed 441 one time, so it’s gonna be a little better than some of your other roads, especially some of your secondary county roads. You know we’re working on it, but it’s snowing so hard this morning that it kept covering up what we were doing, but we’re still working on it.”

Giles says some roads are bad right now but should get better as the temperature rises…

“You know if they can hang in for a little while and let it warm up and melt off, that would be the safest thing to do. If you gotta move around and get to work, you know, just be careful and take your time getting there.”

We will continue to monitor the roads throughout the day.
