Big Change for Clayton City Council

The City of Clayton has announced a time change for their City Council meetings. Work sessions and regular monthly meetings will be held at 2:30 in the afternoon, beginning with the August 12th, meeting. The decision was made by Mayor John Bradshaw…

“A lot of it has to do with some of the people on the council have children, they have a lot of stuff they do in the evenings. Also a major reason I’ve done it is, we’ve being paying some actual overtime to come to the meetings if it goes over 5:30, because they’re by the hour. Also if there’s anything we need to discuss during the day, all the records are open, the people that work at City Hall are there, we can get them to come in and talk to us. It just makes it a lot more convenient for us to do the business.”

Bradshaw adds that he’s open to changing the time if it becomes a problem with the public…

“We were already having the meetings at 4:30, it hasn’t been an issue, if it got to be a big issue, we would certainly take a look at it.”
