Friday is the Last Day to vote Early

Time is running out to vote early in the May 24th Primary Election.  Rabun County Elections and Voter Registration Director Tammy Whitmire tells how many people have already cast ballots in the mid-term election.  “This Friday, May 20, is the last day that you can early vote from 9am to 5pm.  So, that will finish up Early Voting.  So far, as of Wednesday at noon, we’ve had 1,577 people come by to see us and vote early.  So, you still have an opportunity, just remember there is no Saturday voting this week so Friday is your last opportunity.  And then for those that have an absentee ballot, you can come by and drop those absentee ballots off while we’re open during Early Voting.  We do not have a dropbox for after-hours so you have to come during the hours of Early Voting, which is 9am to 5pm, but you can also walk those ballots in all the way to the day of the election, which May 24, from 7am to 7pm, you can walk those in and hand them into me.  So, if you have gotten an absentee ballot you still have time to get that turned in.  We’ve had 175, so far, cast their ballots with paper ballots.”  The Rabun County Board of Elections and Registration Office is located at 184 South Main Street, Suite 102 in Clayton, in the lower level of the Rabun County Health Department.  All voting in Rabun County will take place at this location.
