Hands-Free Law saving Lives

Georgia’s hands-free law is saving lives.  The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety reports the number of people killed in distracted driving crashes dropped by 48% in the first full year of the law in 2019 compared to the year before the law took effect in 2017.  Failing to put down the phone while driving in Georgia can be costly.  Not only can it result in crashes and fatalities but there is a $615 fine, three demerit points, and a three-day license suspension upon conviction.
