RCWSA General Manager gives Monthly Report for May of 2021

At their recent meeting, the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) heard the monthly report for May of 2021 from General Manager Brendan Thompson.  “The May 2021 ending balance on the RCWSA Operating Bank Account is $94,164.24.  The status of the South Water System is the May 2021 water bill has been delivered to the City of Clayton. Unit Rate is $3.19/1,000 gallons beginning in July 2020. Water bill amount is $94,821.80.  The Lake Rabun WTP pumped to distribution system volume for April 2021 was 32,160,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for May 2021 was 35,546,000 gallons; an increase of 3,386,000 gallons or 10.5% from April 2021 to May 2021 with the larger than average increase due to the repair of the golf course meter.  Pumped to distribution system volume for May 2020 was 34,556,000 gallons; an increase of 990,000 gallons or 2.9% from May 2020 to May 2021.  City of Clayton’s May 2020 volume was 32,368,002 gallons. City of Clayton’s May 2021 volume was 29,724,701 gallons. A decrease of 2,643,301 gallons or -8.2% decrease.  Customers’ May 2021 meter readings were done May 24, 2021. Bills were sent out May 28, 2021.  No new taps for the month of May 2021.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of May 2021 was 1.31%.  The status for the North Water System is the Little Tennessee WTP pumped to distribution system for April 2021 was 14,950,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for May 2021 was 15,810,000 gallons; an increase of 860,000 gallons or 5.8% from April 2021 to May 2021.  Customers’ May 2021 meter readings were done May 24, 2021. Bills were sent out May 28, 2021.  No new taps for the month of May 2021.  Unaccounted for water volume for the month of May 2021 was 8.39%.”  At the Rabun County Water Reclamation Facility and Collection System, regular preventive maintenance on motors and machinery and grass mowing, seeding, fertilizing, and weed-eating continues.  Fire hydrant maintenance and valve exercising is ongoing as well.
