Two People arrested after Investigation

A felony theft by taking case led to drug charges for two people in Clayton.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that on May 27, an investigator opened a theft by taking case.  As a result of the investigation, 53-year-old Michael Conway Smiley of Clayton was arrested for felony theft by taking, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, and possession and use of drug-related objects.  The total value of the items taken from an address on Barnyard Lane in Clayton was $1,500.  Also arrested was 31-year-old Pablo Montalvo of Lakemont for possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession and use of drug-related objects.  Both men were booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the charges.
