Motorcycle Chase in Rabun Gap

A motorcycle chase through Rabun Gap resulted in an arrest and four charges being filed against the driver.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 11:10pm on Jan. 25, deputies were dispatched to the Dillard Professional Center in reference to a motorcycle driving recklessly in the parking lot.  As deputies approached the center on Highway 441, they spotted a motorcycle leaving and pursued it. The chase continued south on Highway 441 then onto Kelly’s Creek Road. The motorcycle driver, identified as 21-year-old Matthew Blake Burnette of Rabun Gap, then tried to turn onto Yorkhouse Road but lost control and went over the embankment.  Burnette was arrested and charged with attempting to elude, improper class of driver’s license, no insurance, and no tag. He was then booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the four charges.
