The Atlanta Braves announced on Wednesday that they have exercised manager Fredi Gonzalez’s contract option for the 2014 season. The 48-year-old Gonzalez has compiled a 183-141 record as the Braves’ skipper since replacing the venerable Bobby Cox, who retired after the 2010 season.
NFL
With their second straight AFC West title secured, the Denver Broncos will turn their attention toward earning a first round bye in the postseason tonight when Peyton Manning and Co. shoot to defeat a struggling Oakland Raiders team.
College Football
A few awards for the 2012 College Football Season were announced yesterday. One of those awards went to South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney, who won the Hendricks Award as the top defensive end.

The Rabun County Wildcats Basketball team is currently 3-2 on the season, and is set to take on Walhalla in South Carolina tomorrow night. Their most recent victory came earlier this week over West-Oak.
