Deputies have a ‘cow’ chasing livestock

Local law enforcement had a run around with a couple of cows who escaped from their pastures last week.

Deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office were out patrolling near the intersection of Seedtick Road and Highway 441 near Clayton Health and Fitness when they came across a strange sight – two cows were wandering along the side of the road on Seedtick.

The deputy took a closer look and found two more cows on the run behind Mike Cummins Law Firm heading north on 441.

After authorities had a bit of a runaround with the livestock, the owner of the cows was identified and contacted. Shortly thereafter, the owner arrived on scene and rallied the frolicking cows and led them back to safety in their fence where they belong.

According to the RCSO, any livestock who escapes and causes damage to personal property, the owner of the animals will be held responsible to pay/fix said damages.
