USFS announces low-lying recreation sites reopened

Following a close call initially predicted by forecasters who said Hurricane Florence would bring devastation to Rabun County and surrounding areas, the U.S. Forest Service announced several closures of low-lying recreational areas.

However, according to Judy Toppins Staff Officer and Public Affairs, GIS and Environmental Coordination, “all recreation areas have reopened, and there was no flooding or significant damage reported.”
