Fiscal Year Budget Hearings Begin in Clayton

The fiscal year 2017 budget hearings got underway on Tuesday for the city of Clayton at the Clayton Municipal Complex.

Three departments presented their budgets on Tuesday, the street department, police department, and administration. Good news, is that the budget is going up a slight amount, thanks to an increase in revenue.

According to Clayton City Manager, Cissy Henry, the millage rate should remain the same. The hotel/motel tax saw an increase over the year, which is a good sign for tourism within the city.

Tuesday’s hearing was hearing number one of two for the city, the next one will be next Tuesday at 1PM inside the Clayton City Courtroom.
