A chase that began in North Carolina ends in Clayton.

On Tuesday morning at approximately 1AM, Franklin Police began pursuit of a Dodge Dakota pickup truck after reports of the vehicle had been stolen. After the chase had exceeded Franklin City Limits, Franklin officers warned Clayton Police of the situation, and that the truck was headed south on Highway 441.

That was when the Clayton Police Department set up spike strips near U-Save-It Pharmacy on Highway 441 in Clayton, and the pursuit of the stolen vehicle had ended.

According to assistant Chief of Police, Ryan Hamilton, the driver of the vehicle is still being held in the Rabun County Detention Center.
