Sprint Tower Coming to Clayton

Residents of Rabun County will soon have another option as to which cellular provider best fits them.

Clayton Marshal Scott Crane discussed a handful of items at Tuesday’s Clayton City Council work session, one of those was about the possible addition of a temporary cellular tower coming to the city.

Crane says that contractors from the cellular provider Sprint are looking for a 40×40 area within the city limits for a temporary cellular tower, while a permanent one is being built in another location.

According to Crane, Sprint has contacted the city, as well as two other landowners within the city about the possible location of the tower, and that a decision could be made in the new future.

If the mobile service provider elects to go with the city of Clayton, the proposed area would be in the vicinity of the old city hall.
